ANTIRE VALLEY PARK PARK HISTORY:

The 68 acre facility was under co-ownership with the Department of Public Works as a proposed incinerator site. Due to the need for a mini-bike park, it was turned over to the Department of Parks and Recreation and opened on June 8, 1972. The Range was constructed in 1976. Motorcycle and mini-bike activity ceased during the fall of 1986. This park is within the Henry Shaw Ozark Corridor area and is subject to considerations in its Master Plan that was endorsed by County Council. The entire park is included in the Beaumont-Tyson Quarry District, an archeological site listed in the National Register of Historic Places in 1974.
